When/How/Why did Scenic City Ruckers Ruck Club start?

June 2018. A group of guys from F3 Chattanooga were avid Rucker’s. We did rucks before workouts and many of us were training for, planning to do one, or had already completed a GORUCK event. Additionally, F3 has partnered with GORUCK many time for custom events called GrowRucks, so it was only natural to have a club for those F3 guys in addition to the club already in Chattanooga. We feel that F3 is a great leadership organization that brings people together, so this combined with Rucking is just another way we strive to bring the community together and build relationships.

What sort of activities does Scenic City Ruckers Ruck Club do?

We complete what are often referred to as CSAUP Events or Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless Events. In the face of adversity, stronger teams and relationships are forged. We complete long (10+ mile) rucks together, we get together and ruck before our F3 Bootcamp workouts, and we get together for fellowship events around the city. If the opportunity arises, we will also take on a service project to help those in the community.

Coming up on July 13, 2019, we’re hosting the Fallen 5 Ruck to commemorate the 2015 attack on two military installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

What do you think is the key to having a great Ruck Club?

Members with positive attitudes that want to lift up others around them.

If this looks like your kind of fun, find a ruck club in your area. If there isn’t one… start one.
